Description

This abstract collage is composed of numerous individual mini collages. Each one stands on its own – visually engaging and entirely unique – yet together they form a cohesive, unified whole. The title of this series originated from one of the collage pieces that formed the initial work which inspired a collection; the text read, “Wherever I went, I was welcomed”. It conveys a message of openness – welcoming and embracing every person we encounter, regardless of our similarities or differences. This collage elements in this particular piece – created for the 2026 Soundwaves Gallery – include: a map of South America, a postage stamp, text in multiple languages (Spanish, Dari, Arabic, English), sheet music, a map of Percy Priest Lake, and a map of Nashville. The mini collages “converse” with one another through color, form, and composition, reflecting the way we, as Nashvillians originating from all over the globe, are distinct yet deeply connected.

NOTE: The artwork will remain on display in the Soundwaves Gallery through the end of the 2026 Season. We will contact purchasers at the conclusion of the season (November/December 2026) to make arrangements for local pickup of your purchase.
