Volunteer with Us!

Help cultivate and sustain Nashville’s creative community by volunteering with the Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville (ABC)!

Volunteer opportunities are available for artists and individuals engaged in Nashville’s arts community, business professionals from all fields (particularly accounting, marketing, public relations, HR, consulting, information technology, and management), and lawyers of all practice areas.

Volunteers might serve on a board committee, take on pro bono legal cases through our Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts (VLPA) program, teach an education seminar at one of our monthly workshops, or serve as a mentor to an artist entrepreneur through our Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training program.

PROVIDE PRO BONO LEGAL SUPPORT

ABC’s VLPA program connects volunteer lawyers with income-qualified artists and arts organizations in need of legal advice. Volunteers might assist at quarterly legal clinics, take on pro bono legal referral cases, answer discreet business questions, or use their talents in support of the arts in other ways. Use your legal skills to support and uplift Nashville’s arts community (and earn CLE credits while you do it!).

SUPPORT ARTISTS THROUGH BUSINESS MENTORSHIP

Mentorship is an important component of the Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training program, and immensely rewarding for artist and mentor alike. After completing nine weeks of coursework designed to help them view their practice through an entrepreneurial lens, each artist in the program is paired with a volunteer business mentor to help guide them as they develop their Periscope Pitch and business plan.. Professionals from both within and outside of the arts are encouraged to become mentors.

SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AS A SPEAKER, PANELIST, OR WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

ABC hosts educational panels and workshops throughout the year. These workshops are geared toward artists, arts administrators, lawyers, and business professionals spanning a wide range of topics at the intersection of art & business, such as literary publishing, film financing, music contracts, and much more! SERVE AS A COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER ON AN ABC BOARD COMMITTEE

Help inform and improve ABC’s programs and services by serving as a community volunteer on one of ABC’s board committees. ABC is currently seeking volunteers to serve on our Programs Committee and VLPA Advisory Committee. Artists and attorneys looking to get engaged and make an impact on our arts sector are encouraged to apply.
