Description
My art is about connecting with others. Being fairly new to Nashville and visiting neighborhoods, I seek out places to meet new folks and find common ground. Nashville is warm and displays true Southern hospitality. In my current work, I depict shared experiences like going to the park or coffee shop in my own style, which is rooted in realism but adds abstract elements to create a sense of universal space. In this painting, four women are at a high table in a coffee shop. It is an intergenerational group, the older members benefitting from younger energy and the young soaking up the knowledge and wisdom from her elders. It is universal to want to be heard and to listen in return. We are stronger when we gather together and share our stories, dreams and concerns. In every country, we all value friendship.
