The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville, Blackbird Media, and F&M Bank have teamed up to present the Artist of the Week on The Nashville Sign. This week, 2017 Periscope alum Tony Sobota is featured!
Tony paints in a space where both architecture and portraiture demand equal attention. He currently uses the visual language of construction to frame his portrait of Nashville: as a work in progress. On a scale from smaller site-specific studies to larger more conceptual pieces, Tony’s work pursues the question: do we value the process of “becoming”, or just anxiously await the removal of all the scaffolding?
