The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville, Blackbird Media, and F&M Bank have teamed up together to present the Artist of the Week on The Nashville Sign. This week, 2018 Periscope alum Diane Marsella is featured! Diane is a photographer and visual artist who has adapted to the times. As digital photography changed the industry, she changed along with it, adding Photoshop and other digital manipulation tools to her repertoire. When Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012, native New-Yorker Diane couldn’t afford to replace the art materials she lost to the intense flooding. However, she had her computer and years’ worth of digital photos, which is when she started to really look at and combine the realism of a photo with pure design using Photoshop. Some are somewhat representational, others are meditative, and others border on the surreal, but each starts with an ordinary and sometimes mundane root image.
