The Arts & Business Council, Blackbird Media, and F&M Bank have teamed up to present the Artist of the Week on The Nashville Sign. This week’s featured artist is Jamie Whitlow!
Jamie is a visual artist who creates 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional artwork in a wide range of genres, including impressionism, realism, and abstract expressionism.
Her practice includes a variety of art forms including acrylic and oil painting, drawing, digital art, mural painting, jewelry making, photography and sculpture. Jamie also creates public art in the form of murals and installations, creating larger-than-life spaces within which people can gather together. Jamie juxtaposes realistic symbols of life, love, and pain within her art, creating collage-like, surrealistic universes.

Jamie graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Art Practices with two minors in sociology and psychology. She has participated in both local and national exhibitions, ranging from Nashville art crawls to interactive sculpture installations and pop-up immersive art exhibits in Atlanta, Florida, Ohio and more.
