Cathy Brooks-Fincher - Cathy Brooks-Fincher’s passion for painting began when she retired from her practice as a clinical social worker and took her first painting class 6 years ago. As a self taught artist her work reflects a love of nature and travel rendered in plein air and studio painting.“While painting outdoors has taught me to see as an artist it is my imagination that drives my compositions.”
- Pilgrimage Oil on canvas.Pilgrimage is a process work that explores the theme of “Music City.” It illuminates some of the great legendary artists of yesterday that had ties to Nashville along with the contemporary singers, songwriters and musicians that define today’s music and inspire fledgling musicians from all over the country who flock to the city in the hopes of being discovered. It is rendered in oil with palette knife and brush embracing a graphic aesthetic that is a current driver in this season of the artist’s life.
Kimberly CloKimberly Clo is a Nashville-based artist, teacher and author. She creates futuristic, geometry-inspired art that bridges creativity, self-discovery and social transformation.
Her hand-drawn art is a contemplative tool, inviting curiosity and wonder. Paulette LicitraPaulette Licitra is a self-taught artist based in Nashville, TN. She has been painting for about 12 years and especially loves to interpret beautiful architectural monuments. The Ryman Auditorium is one of her favorite subjects. Its unique lines and design are a giant work of art right in the middle of downtown Nashville.
- Paulette’s work has been exhibited in many Nashville art venues, including Galerie Tangerine, Artclectic, and the Gordon JCC. She also teaches Italian cooking in Nashville and appears frequently on “Today in Nashville” on WSMV-TV. Paulette’s band, “Duette” with Duane Spencer, appears monthly at Brown’s Diner.
- Friendly Ryman Acrylic on canvas.The architecture of the iconic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville inspires so much charm and carries so much history. Truly it’s the building that brings together and speaks to the authenticity of the Nashville community. It will always be the place where the true spirit of Nashville resides.
This unique exhibition features 44 artworks by 44 local artists selected by the Nashville Soccer Club and the Arts & Business Council in collaboration with a three-person curatorial committee comprised of local arts leaders Michael J. McBride, Artist, Illustrator, Printmaker, Painter, and Instructor of Art at Tennessee State University; Amanda H. Hellman, Director of the Vanderbilt University Museum of Art; and Michael Mitchell (aka mikewindy), Artist and Art Education Coordinator at Tennessee State University.
The artwork will remain on display in the Soundwaves Gallery at GEODIS Park through the end of the Nashville SC 2025 Season.
