Description
Tootsie’s is a hand-built, inexact “artistic” rendering of Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, made of hand-etched groggy Soldate clay. Details were carefully painted onto this layer using underglazes. Real gold luster details were added before a third kiln firing. Part of a series featuring iconic downtown structures, this piece celebrates the rich heritage Nashville has and shares with her myriad of visitors every day. The architecture and the history behind each of the individual buildings make this set of sculptures a hit — you could scarcely visualize downtown Nashville without her “old-timey” buildings, just brimming with character and nostalgia.
