Description
For this piece, I used paint for the background, then incorporated cut images from magazines and of clothing from different colors of paper. I picked materials that had different textures to add a 3-D element including buttons, ribbons and flowery pieces. This piece was pure fun to make! I wanted to show artists of different mediums. For instance, there is a photographer/ballerina, a musician and a writer, with playful accents like the ballerina taking a photograph while on her toes and the writer with a huge hand. It represents the uniqueness of the people in different neighborhoods. Whether those people are artists or not, we can still represent and cultivate our neighborhoods which would then make the city flourish even more.
