Applications Now Open for Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training in Nashville

Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville supports sustainable creative careers for local artists through entrepreneurial training

The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville (ABC) seeks applicants for the 12th class of Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training (Periscope), an annual business development intensive that empowers working artists to see their creative practice through an entrepreneurial lens. Periscope provides tools and resources to help artists organize, plan, and sustain a creative career to develop an individualized business model based on their creative output. 

Each year, the class is composed of a diverse group of artists, artisans, makers, and creative entrepreneurs of many artistic disciplines including visual art, music, dance, spoken word, film, fashion and more. Sessions are led by expert instructors from within Nashville’s entrepreneurial community and breakout group discussions are facilitated by some of Nashville’s top arts professionals. Periscope is designed to be a transformative experience for each artist, sparking the moment when their career will really start to take off!

Applications for Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training are due no later than Thursday, February 6 at noon. Applications received after this time may not be considered.

Nominate an Artist Anyone who knows an artist with an entrepreneurial spirit who has both the creative talent and the potential for business success should complete the brief nomination form on ABC’s website. Please send us your nominations by January 31 at noon.

Now in its 12th year, Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training is a program of ABC developed in partnership with the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, Metro Arts: Nashville’s Office of Arts + Culture, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Mayor’s Office of Economic & Community Development. Since its inception, Periscope has expanded to support rural artists statewide through Periscope: Rural Artist Development with support from the Tennessee Arts Commission, and in Chattanooga through Periscope CHA: Artist Entrepreneur Training in partnership with ArtsBuild.
