Evan Roosevelt Brown Curator + Creative Director
Evan Roosevelt Brown (He/Him) is a visionary art curator and creative director with a passion for building upon the artistic expressions of artists. Raised in Nashville since he was 5 years of age, Evan’s upbringing in the Nashville community art scene ignited his lifelong fascination with creativity, expression and expansion. Evan’s academic journey led him to earn a degree in Economics and Finance and a Master’s in Business Administration, where he honed his critical thinking and analytical skills. After years of developing relationships and building a sound resumé in corporate work, Evan was presented the opportunity to pursue his first passion of art and curation, where he led as art director for Slim & Husky’s pizza locations and headed The NKA Gallery by Slim & Husky’s as curator and director of exhibitions. His innovative approach to curating exhibitions has garnered local and state attention, leading to collaborative curatorial projects with Ce Gallery and more, and building a reputation for bringing together young, emerging, progressive artists and underrepresented voices to share their artistic narratives. Evan’s passion for education led him to develop educational programs alongside local schools, hosting workshops and discussions that encourage dialogue, foster creativity, and promote art as a tool for change throughout Nashville, Memphis and Tennessee.
Evan believes that art is a powerful catalyst for societal transformation. He envisions a world where art challenges perceptions, sparks conversation and fuels innovation. His philosophy centers on the idea that art should not only be aesthetically pleasing but should also provoke thought, evoke emotion, and inspire action. He strives to create immersive experiences that transport visitors into new realms of imagination and understanding.
