The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville is thrilled to welcome three new members to our Board of Directors: Brittany Macon, Marca Barr, and Eric Cook. Each brings deep expertise, leadership, and a shared commitment to cultivating a thriving, sustainable creative culture in Nashville.
BRITTANY S. MACON
Associate, Polsinelli
Brittany Macon is a real estate attorney at Polsinelli PC, where she works with national and local real estate developers, investors and corporate clients on various commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. Brittany delivers a broad range of services throughout the different phases of the real estate transaction life cycle including structuring, acquisition, development, operation and disposition across a variety of asset classes. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Politics from Sewanee: The University of the South and additionally earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School. Prior to joining Polsinelli, Brittany practiced at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings and at Maynard Nexsen.
In her community, Brittany serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of Monroe Harding: Tennessee Foster Care & Foster Parenting, an organization that works with both pairing foster children with families and assisting young adults aging out of the foster care program. Additionally, she is the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors of Sewanee Village Ventures, Inc., a local organization dedicated to revitalizing the downtown Sewanee area, and is a founding Board Member of the Benjamin Network, Sewanee’s black alumni group. Prior to this, Brittany served on the Junior Board of the YWCA. Brittany is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and met her husband, Daryl Curry at Sewanee. Brittany lives in Nashville with Daryl, and their toy poodles, Jasper and Lily. They are expecting their first child in September.
ERIC COOK
Director, So+Co Community Initiatives
Eric Cook is the Director of So+Co Community Initiatives, a philanthropic fund dedicated to facilitating arts education and professional training opportunities for underrepresented and emerging creatives in Nashville, TN.
Launched in 2021 and self-funded by Mr. Cook and his husband Jason Somerville, So+Co Community Initiatives was born out of their mutual appreciation of the arts, and their recognition of the profound contribution that creatives make to the cultural fabric of the city of Nashville. Mr. Cook’s dual focus is on expanding access to Nashville’s existing programs, as well as working with national institutions to establish new programs for emerging artists to live, work, and create in the city.
Prior to his work with their fund, Mr. Cook was previously an employment defense attorney with over 15 years of experience litigating single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, and class action lawsuits in California state and federal courts, and before arbitration tribunals. Most recently, he served as Senior Counsel, Employment and Litigation, for rideshare giant Lyft, where he oversaw national operations and litigation strategy for the company’s portfolio of driver arbitration claims. Mr. Cook holds a B.A. in political science, with a specialization in business administration, from the University of California Los Angeles. He also holds a J.D. and M.B.A. from Boston College. He and his husband currently reside in Oak Hill, TN.
MARCA M. BARR
Project Director, Revenue Cycle, Parallon Project Services/HCA
Marca M. Barr started her career at HCA Healthcare in 2018, working in the Information and
Protection Group, and joined the Parallon Project Services team as a Senior Project Manager II serving the Clinical Operations Group to assist in delivering projects that impact patient safety. In 2021 Marca transitioned to Parallon’s Revenue Cycle team supporting Acquisitions and Divestitures and was promoted to Director. She aspires to connect her values to the mission “Above all else we care for and improve human life in our communities.” Marca has 19 years of experience in project management, resource management, and managing complex projects and teams. As a leader, she believes that there are elements of trust in cultivating positive relationships, good judgment, and being consistent in every aspect of her life.
Marca is a graduate of Florida State University, and has her PMP, CSM, CRCR, and MHA. She and her husband, James, have lived in Nashville, TN, for 10 years with their dogs Rowdy and Winston and enjoy hiking, canoeing, boating, and any activity involving being outdoors.
