Volunteer Spotlight: Danny Pippin

As part of our 20th anniversary Volunteer Spotlight series, we’re continuing to celebrate the dedicated professionals who help strengthen Nashville’s creative community through the Arts & Business Council.

Our volunteers are essential partners in our work. From providing pro bono legal and professional through Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts (VLPA) to serving as mentors for artists through Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training, our volunteers offer practical guidance, trusted perspective, and hands-on support at key moments in creative careers. Opportunities to volunteer with ABC span disciplines and professional backgrounds.

This month, we’re proud to spotlight Danny Pippin, a business growth strategist, executive coach, and community-minded leader who has volunteered with ABC for seven years.

Danny Pippin is the Director of Programs at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center and founder of Pippin Enterprises. With more than 25 years of experience across leadership, operations, and growth, Danny has worked with organizations ranging from emerging startups to nationally recognized brands. He is passionate about helping people and organizations reach their full potential and is energized by creating opportunities for others, building meaningful connections, and helping communities thrive.

Through his volunteer work with the Arts & Business Council, Danny is proud to support the creative leaders and cultural organizations that make Nashville such a vibrant city.

We asked Danny a few questions reflecting on his years of service with ABC:

What inspired you to volunteer with ABC?

I’m inspired by the way creativity brings people together, sparks new ideas, and strengthens communities. Volunteering with the Arts & Business Council gives me the opportunity to support the artists, leaders, and organizations that help make Nashville such a connected and dynamic city.

What has been your favorite “volunteer moment”?

My favorite volunteer moments are the opportunities to encourage others and share insights that help someone move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Seeing the direct impact of service in another person’s journey is always meaningful.

A special highlight was speaking at Creative Exchange on the topic of becoming a “Well Fed Artist.”

Any advice for new volunteers?

Show up ready to serve, but don’t assume service only looks like doing a task. Sometimes the greatest value you bring is your perspective, your encouragement, or your willingness to really see someone. Listen well, be present, and share generously. You may never fully know the impact one meaningful interaction can have.

Thank you, Danny!

We are grateful for Danny’s seven years of service to ABC and for the expertise, encouragement, and leadership he continues to share with Nashville’s creative community.
