Description
The artist’s paintings evoke the charm of folk art through their ornate and decorative qualities. Each piece is a labor of love, as she dedicates countless hours to ensure that every mark is intentional and purposeful. In this painting, the artist embraces the theme of THE HE(ART) OF NASHVILLE through her thoughtful use of warm colors and a bordering design that symbolizes the unity and support that form the foundation of this vibrant city. The warm tones evoke the feeling of community, warmth, and connection, reflecting Nashville’s inviting atmosphere. The border design serves as a metaphor for the collective energy of the city’s diverse neighborhoods and its commitment to supporting one another. Just as the individual dots and colors within the painting unite to create a larger image, the people of Nashville contribute their unique strengths and passions to form a thriving, harmonious community.
The artist is part of the visual arts program at Friends Life Community (FLC), an organization that provides opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to grow, develop, and be active members of the community. Through FLC’s person-driven program, the artists are encouraged to explore their creativity and share their work with others.
